Because of the hot and humid weather forecast for Friday, residents can swim at any one of Boston’s community pools for free, Mayor Martin J. Walsh’s office said in a statement.
Pools operated by Boston Centers for Youth and Families will be free starting at noon Friday until closing time, which varies depending on location.
Friday is expected to be an oppressively hot and muggy day, with the highest temperatures in the afternoon and early evening.
Walsh’s office also offered several heat safety tips, suggesting that people stay hydrated, apply sunscreen, and limit outdoor activity to morning and evening hours.
The cooling centers and pools are listed here.
