The home of the Red Sox will begin a new tradition in 2020.
According to Brett McMurphy of Stadium, Fenway Park will host a new bowl game starting in 2020. It will pit teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference and the American Athletic Conference against each other.
“This is a good thing if you like college football,” said McMurphy. “Certainly it’s a good for the American. They get a bowl game against a power five opponent.”
Starting in 2020, a record 43 bowls (including the CFP title game) will be held and 65 percent of the 130 FBS schools (84 teams) will play in a bowl. @Brett_McMurphy discusses the new bowl game at @fenwaypark. pic.twitter.com/isKs9khy2R

Los Angeles and Myrtle Beach, S.C., are also getting new bowl games, according to McMurphy.
Yankee Stadium already hosts a bowl game — the Pinstripe Bowl, which has existed since 2010 (and also involves an ACC team).
Boston College is a member of the ACC, as are traditional powers such as Clemson, Florida State, Miami, and Virginia Tech.
The AAC is a two-division conference with a total of 12 teams, including Connecticut.
Seven AAC teams played in bowl games last season, including Central Florida in the Fiesta Bowl.
